Robbie and Lydia met while attending Covenant College and married in 2004. After graduating with degrees emphasizing youth ministry, they both joined the youth staff of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. While working on staff, Robbie received his master of arts in theological studies from Covenant Theological Seminary. Lydia worked full time at the church until the birth of their first child in 2008, but she has continued serving as a volunteer. Both Robbie and Lydia have a heart for sharing the gospel with teenagers and love seeing growth in their knowledge and love for Jesus.
In 2013 the Lord called the Sweets to serve in St. Andrews, Scotland as part of MTW’s Next ministry. Next exists to serve the global church in engaging the emerging generation with the gospel across. The Sweets will focus their efforts on serving with a local evangelical church plant, encouraging and equipping European leaders for next generation ministry, and will pursue ministry opportunities with the missionary kids serving throughout Europe. Please pray for the Sweets and their vision of reaching the next generation for Christ.
